Sally Kay Yarnell Stanton, 84, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Sally was born on October 15, 1938, to Kenneth Yarnell Sr. and Ellen Bittner Yarnell in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Sally graduated from Lock Haven State Teachers College. She obtained her master’s degree in education from Potsdam University. She received a special degree in Gifted Children Education from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Sally taught art for many years at different schools in Missouri and New York. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a board member of Ducks Unlimited in New York state. Sally trained, showed and field trained Labrador Retrievers. She loved the outdoors and camping with her husband. Sally loved art, pottery, sculpting and knitting. Especially knitting items for her family. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Franklin Stanton and her children, Robert Kenneth Stanton (wife, Lori Stanton) and Beth Ann Brown (husband, Leon Michael Brown) and they were blessed with 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Sally is also survived by her sisters, Victoria McElwee of Smethport, Pennsylvania and Kim Bierly of Center Hall, Pennsylvania and brother, Kenneth Yarnell, Jr. of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
