Reuben Edward Phillips, 80, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, January 8th, at his home. He was born in Telford, Tennessee on August 29, 1935, a son of the late Edith Leslie (Broyles) and Eugene Phillips. Reuben was united in marriage to Linda G. Land in May of 1965 in Chicago, Illinois and to this union came two children. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, friend and was a truck driver and crane operator. Rueben served in the U.S. Air Force as a Pvt in the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his wife, Linda of 50 years; two children, Kristen Phillips of Burbank, Illinois and Danny Phillips of Justice, Illinois; two sisters, Evelyn VanEck of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Marie Collins of Austin, Texas and one brother, Harry A. Phillips of Denver, Colorado. Reuben was preceded in by his parents, Eugene and Edith Phillips; sister, Carlton Brown and brothers, Warren, Gary and Ross Howard Phillips.
