Raymond L (Ray) Gill passed into Eternity on December 7. He was born in Memphis, Tn to Hazel and Oscar Fred Gill, Jr. on June 10, 1936.
He attended Memphis State University before serving, honorably, in the Army Security Agency in Korea. His career was spent in the food service industry where he served as a director at Sysco Food Services in Houston.
Ray's passion was his family, his country, his church, the American flag, and its correct usage and living in HSB, Ar. He was an Elder and worshiped with the Saints at Faith Presbyterian Church.
Ray was married to Pat for 63 years. They have 2 sons, Patrick and wife Lacy, and Paul “P.J”. His godson, Aaron Evans. His 3 grandsons were a source of pride and pleasure to him. They have come to “Camp Honey and Pops” since they were very young and still come to enjoy the lake on every holiday. They are Padon, Straton, Elliott and his new bride Heather. He has a great grandson, Wells, and a great granddaughter Harper…. All of whom reside in Houston.
His only surviving brother, Fred Gill, lives in Counce, Tn.
Bob and Vicki Yates of Pickwick Lake, Ms; Jon and Elaine Winsette of Amarillo, Tx are his special brothers and sisters in law.
There are several nieces and nephews but Heather Yates, his niece, was always very special to him.
Ray was an optimist and visionary by nature. He met every challenge and assignment with a spirit of willingness and pride. He would tell you that he lived a long life and was blessed.
The family wishes to thank all of those who brought food, sent inspiring and comforting messages and prayed for us during this difficult time. Ray would tell you he lived a long life and was always thankful.
The family and friends of Ray Gill invite you to attend his Celebration of Life at Faith Presbyterian Church in HSB on Saturday, Dec 21 at 1:00.
