Michael Hurtado Cortez

Michael Hurtado Cortez, 60, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Orange, California on June 6, 1954, a son of the late Resujio (Hurtado) and Leovigildo Cortez. Michael was united in marriage to Donna Maria Esccarzega on August 2, 1980 in Corona, California. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband and a salesman in his working years, He was a member of Kiwanis, where he was the treasurer, Knights of Columbus, Cherokee Gun and Hunting Club, and Horseshoe Bend Men's Golf. Michael is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; four sisters, Consuelo Melgoza, Antonia Hurtado, Maria Louisa Cortez and Mary Ann Cortez; and five brothers; Jesus, William, Joseph, Ruben, Leo JR Cortez. He is preceded in death by his parents and one bother, Daniel Cortez. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 beginning at 9:00 AM at SAint Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend with Father Nazarus MAduben and Rev. David Schaller officiating. Burial will be at Evening Shadows Memorial Park in Horseshoe BEnd. Visitation will be Friday, March 6,2015 beginning at 5:00 PM at Doty Family Funeral and Memorial Service Chapel in Horseshoe Bend.
