Merlyn Walter Lenhard

Merlyn Walter Lenhard, 81, of Horseshoe Bend, AR, passed away, Monday, May 4th, while in the company of family members, at his residence. Merlyn was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 25, 1933, a son of the late Minnie (Nitz) and Walter Lenhard. He worked as a supervisor at Quaker Oats Chemical Company and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Lions Club, Men's Golf Association, AARP, and served on the Horseshoe Bend City Council for ten years. He was a member of Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church. He was the husband of Ellen Joan (Klepper) Lenhard and they were united in marriage on August 12, 1956, in Sterling, Nebraska. Merlyn is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, two sons Joel Craig, (Diane) Lenhard, of Omaha, Ne; Clark Allen, (Sherla) Lenhard, of Midlothian, Tx. Grandchildren Dane Lenhard, Brice Lenhard, Royce Lenhard and step grandchild Trenton Stapleton, two great grandchildren and one niece Leslie Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Virginia Lenhard Heil. There will be a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church , Fourth and Church Street, Saturday May 16 at 1pm.
