Mary Ann Abernathy

Mary Ann Abernathy, 66, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, December 4, 2022, in Horseshoe Bend.

She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on May 9, 1956, daughter of the late Verne and Annabelle (Whitesell) Hettinger. Mary enjoyed gardening and flowers. Her biggest love was her family. Mary was a single mom who worked hard her entire life to provide for her children. She enjoyed cooking for them and playing with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her sons, Edward Paul (Kristen) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Charles Thompson (Natalie) of Alexander, Arkansas; daughters, Jennifer Manson (Kevin) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Pam Martin (Tony) of Batesville, Arkansas; sister, Phyllis McFall of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and grandchildren, Danny Vickers, Ricky Vickers, Allen Thompson, Madison Thompson, Tamara Manson, Tiffany Manson, Anna Mae Paul, Nikki Paul, Jayden Martin, Kelcey Paul and Katelynn Partida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verne and Annabelle Hettinger.

Pallbearers include: Edward Paul, Charles Thompson, Danny Vickers, Ricky Vickers, Tony Martin and Adam Hudson

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2022, beginning at 11:00 AM at Doty Family Funeral & Memorial Service Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas with Bro. Ronnie Black officiating. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery in Evening Shade, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
