Kenneth Edward Buttry, 80, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life on Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Horseshoe Bend.
He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, on September 17, 1942, son of the late Willie and Bessie (Holloway) Buttry. Ken earned a PHD in Engineering and during his working years he was a Civil Engineer. He was united in marriage to Carol Breedlove on June 8, 1968, in Independence, Missouri. Ken was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Boating and Fishing Club and Honorary Police. During tax season Ken would set up at the Horseshoe Bend Library and help others with their taxes. He enjoyed reading, playing bridge and scouting. Ken loved kayaking on the lake and camping and fishing with his kids. He was best known as “Grumpy”.
Ken is survived by his wife, Carol Buttry of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; son, Keith Buttry (Petra) of Lakeworth, Florida; daughters, Kimberly Paul (Jeremy) of Raymore, Missouri and Karyn Weidman (Luke) of Greer, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jason Hahn (Tiffany), Erica Hahn, Tristan Weidman, Zamia Buttry, Mikaylla Weidman, Vivian Weidman and Evelyn Weidman and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Mills.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kurtis Buttry; parents; and brother, Larry Buttry.
Memorial service will be Thursday, October 6, 2022, beginning at 1:00 PM at Faith Presbyterian Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas with Rev. David Schaller officiating.
