John Henry Gray

John Henry Gray, 84, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020.

He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 9th, 1936 to Wonley and Georgia LaChance Gray.

On December 11, 1993 John married Frances Syce in Livermore, California.

John was an extraordinary man who served others whether he was teaching or making saddles.  He taught in Christian Education, served as a Pastor, and coached women’s basketball. As a member of New Beginnings New Fellowship Church in Horseshoe Bend, he taught Christian Bible College and Men’s Bible Study. He was loved by many all over the world.

John owned and operated Gray’s Saddle in Horseshoe Bend and made saddles for Wounded Warriors, Special Needs Children, and Horse Therapy. The saddles he made were sent all over the world.

He is survived by his wife; Frances (Fran), of the home; sons, Nathan Gray, Jonathan Gray, and Sean Syce; a daughter, Rachel Gray; a sister, Eva Wabindato, of Horseshoe Bend; and his grandchildren, Noah Gray, Jesse Owens, Jonathan Gray, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Doty Family Funeral and Memorial Service in Horseshoe Bend.

We will be complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines in limiting indoor attendance to 50 people at one time and will be practicing social distancing.  All attendees must wear their own masks before entering facility.
