James "Jim" H. Durham, 84, of Oxford, Arkansas died Saturday, April 6th, 2019 at White River Health Care & Rehab in Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Jim was born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky on January 29, 1935, son of the late Lois (Tyson) and Murphy Durham. Jim spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and had many friends. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Corcoran on August 4, 1956 at St. John’s Cathedral in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jim served our country for three years in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Jim retired from the Milwaukee County Civil Service Department in 1990. During that time, he served on the Milwaukee County Park Commission as a greensmen on the golf courses. Jim furthered his time with the Milwaukee County Highway Department as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Jim was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend and as a former Knight of Columbus there. Jim was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and ice fishing on the Mississippi River and deer hunting in Northern Wisconsin.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; brother, Carroll Wayne Durham of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and two grandchildren, Daniel Schubring also of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Angela of Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his daughters, Dawn Elizabeth and Deanna Maria Durham; and his parents, Murphy and Lois Durham and sister, Jo Nell Duffy.
No services are planned at this time. A Memorial Mass will be arranged at a later date at St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend.
