Ida Lillian (Owens) Specht, 88, of Cherokee Village, AR went home to Jesus on March 4, 2020 in Columbia, Missouri at University of MO Hospital due to Alzheimer’s.
Ida was born in Little Rock, AR on May 30, 1931 to James A. Owens Sr. and Ida Lillian (Handy) Owens.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Zada Owens; her siblings: Ruth Maxine Roberts, James Owens Jr., Billie Jo Owens and Kenneth L. Owens; her husband of 28 years USMC Staff Sgt Dwight R. Falk and her husband of 13 years Carl Specht. And her only child, Jerry A. Falk on January 24, 2018.
Ida live in Barstow from 1950 until 1990 when she and Carl moved to Ash Flat, AR. Ida was the family genealogist. She left a lasting legacy by creating family genealogy books which took her decades to create. Ida has a feisty spirit and loved to make puny jokes, she enjoyed making people laugh. She loved the Lord, her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her granddaughter Veronica L. Herzing (Larry) and her great grandchildren Matthew Falk-Herzing and Megan Herzing of Jefferson City, MO. Her granddaughter Melissa Hernandez (Armando) of California City, CA and great-grandchildren Andrew Falk, Rene Castellon, Clarissa Castellon and Lauren Hernandez as well as 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend and loving caretaker, Louis McClure of Cherokee Village, AR who was by her side for the past 20 years and dear friends, Jeremy and Angie Lindley of Hardy, AR.
Funeral services will Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 12:30 PM at Doty Family Funeral & Memorial Service Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, AR with Bro. Tom Doty officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat, AR.
