Francis “Mike” Michael Slavin, 77, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, in Ash Flat, Arkansas.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 31, 1944, son of the late Francis and Virginia (Easley) Slavin. Mike spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was united in marriage to Joanne Louise Shaw on August 12, 1982, in San Diego, California. Mike served our country in the United States Navy and retired after 29 years of service. He had an interest in technology and after retiring from the Navy he spent seven years working in the technology department at FedEx. Mike enjoyed hosting karaoke at The Loft and Crown Point Nursing Home. He was a past president of the Horseshoe Bend Airport Commission and served on the commission for many years.
Mike is survived by his wife, Joanne Slavin of Horseshoe Bend; son, Francis Thomas Slavin (Stevie) of Orofino, Idaho; daughter, Shanyn Slavin of Washington State; brothers, Bob Slavin (Paul) of Atlanta, Georgia, John Slavin of Atlanta, Georgia, Tom Slavin of Seattle, Washington and Dan Slavin of Salinas, California; sisters, Peg Francis (Bob) of California and Lesley Slavin of Phoenix, Arizona and grandchildren, Cody Slavin, Tessa Slavin and Aria Slavin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Virginia Slavin.
Private services will be held at a later date.
