Elmer Roy Quick

Elmer Roy Quick, 95, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, October 15, 2021, in his home.

He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on December 13, 1925, son of the late Gilbert W. and Printhia B. (Lutz) Quick. Elmer spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, cousin, uncle, and friend. He served our country in the United States Navy for two years during World War II and was a member of the American Legion in Horseshoe Bend for 63 years. Elmer was united in marriage to Jaqueline Adrienne Grimmius on July 20, 1979, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. During his working years, Elmer worked for Hormel Foods in the ham department. He attended church at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Elmer enjoyed golfing and was a member of Turkey Mountain Golf Course in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Jackie Quick of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; son, Timothy Quick of Fort Dodge, Iowa and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters and his grandparents.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021, beginning at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas with Pastor Bradley Heinecke officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, October 27, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 508 Profession Dr., Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas 72512 in the memory of Elmer.
