Elizabeth Louise Bandel, 94, Horseshoe Bend, AR, passed away Sunday, September 7th at CrownPoint Health and Rehab Center. She was born on June 25, 1920 in Rochester, New York as the third child of Joseph and Jenny Luehm and sister to Robert and Virginia. She was working for Prudential Life of NY where she met her late husband of 39 years, Arthur W. Bandel. Arthur and she raised their three children, David, Lynne and Paul and was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also has four nieces and nephews who are very special to her. Betty spent her working years as a secretary and bookkeeper, and had many hobbies including growing roses and strawberries, glazing ceramics, birding and was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed needlepoint. She was an outstanding cook and baker and once retired, loved to volunteer at her local hospital. She was fortunate to have lived in and seen many places around the world. Betty may have been short in stature, but her presence was felt by everyone around her. She spoke her mind and whether or not you agreed with her, everyone respected that quality in her. She lived with grace and dignity and touched the lives of those around her. Betty cherished her friends and family and will be missed by many.
