Darrell Udell King

Darrell Udell King, 73, of Horseshoe Bend, departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2020.  He was born in Edwardsville, Illinois on October 6, 1946 to Arthur and Capitola Row King.

He worked for the City of Horseshoe Bend as a manager for the Wastewater Treatment Department. Darrell was united in marriage to Patricia Seitz on July 27, 1968 and to this union three children were born, Darrell, Paul, and Nick.

Darrell enjoyed whittle working, leather crafts, taking family trips, and spending time with his family. He was a former Assistant Fire Chief for the Horseshoe Bend Fire & Rescue Department and a former Boy Scout Troop 258 leader in Horseshoe Bend.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; sons, Paul King and wife Stephanie, of Edwardsville, Illinois, Nick King and wife Emily, of Cherokee Village; daughter-in-law, Vickie King of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas; brother, Jack King and wife Edna, of Collinsville, Illinois; two sisters, Shirley Erhart of Vandalia, Illinois, and Sharon Zoeller and husband Frank, of Edwardsville, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Darrell King, brothers, Jessie King and Gene King, and Delore King.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Doty Family Funeral & Memorial Service with Doctor D.L. Spurlin officiating.
