Blanche Childs Marona, 96, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Diamond Cove Healthcare in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
She was born in Dunkerton, Iowa on August 4, 1921, daughter of the late Harold E. and Erma N. (Goff) Bellmer. Blanche spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was united in marriage to the late Max W. Childs on November 12, 1939 in Waterloo, Iowa and from this union four children were born. On October 19, 1995 in Batesville, Arkansas, Blanche was united in marriage to the late Tom Marona. During her working years, she was a homemaker and a sales clerk for Willard Chumley Drug Store in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Blanche attended church at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Sarah Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Blanche is survived by her children, Barbara Menzel of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Jerry Childs of La Crescenta, California, Timothy Childs of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Melissa Archuleta of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Dean Bellmer of Spring Valley, California and four step-children, Tony Marona of Huntington Beach, California, Debbie Marona of Lake Forest, California, Donna Dols of Shakopee, Minnesota and Doris Marona of Burnsville, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Max Childs and Tom Marona; parents, Harold and Erma Bellmer; sister, Beulah Boynton and brother, Paul Bellmer.
Burial will be held in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa at a later date.
