Arthur Julius Johnson, 87, of Horseshoe Bend, AR, passed away, Sunday, June 15th, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas. He was born in Elburn, Illinois on July 16, 1926, a son of the late Oscar and Ida Johnson. Arthur was united in marriage to Rosemary Elizabeth Chrystal on June 16, 1951 in River Forrest, Illinois. He was a World War II Veteran in the United States Navy. He spent his working years as a mechanic in the auto industry. Arthur was a member of the St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Arthur is survived by his wife Rosemary of 63 years, four daughters, Barb and husband George Frost, Beth Johnson, Marsha Johnson, and Anna and husband Ron Freeman, four grandchildren, Cheryl Rhodes, Arthur Johnson, Melissa Johnson and Alexander Johnson, and 8 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, one son, Paul, two brothers, Eric Johnson and Gus Johnson, and two sisters, Seva Holbert and Elsa Cole. There are no services planned at this time.
